Educators will walk away with the ability to teach African American history in a way that inspires and fosters pride in their students. We will also provide practical strategies for infusing this content across various subject areas.

"Not just saying this, I know for a fact every teacher walked out of that session feeling energized and creative."

“Everything was amazing. Brian was knowledgeable about hip hop's history, the ways it is defined, musical roots, and gave examples of text to use in class. I'll use it all in English class to teach figurative language and literary devices."

"Yesterday's workshop was absolutely amazing! Mr. Knowles's presentation was so informative! His unpacking of the terminology and history behind colonization and the impact on the curriculum was in tandem with the work that must be done to make history relevant to our scholars!"

"Brian Knowles was excellent! Not only did he have an amazing presentation prepared for us, but he guided us all so effortlessly through it and dealt with questions and concerns that came up with personal anecdotes and a grace that I found centering and reassuring. We CAN have the hard conversation

" I enjoyed the lively and rich discussion. The historical perspective lent a deeper understanding of the subject matter, cautioning educators not to look at things from a deficit lens."
